Department characteristics
The Department of Physics Education (KDF) guarantees study of physics teaching and education of future physics teachers for secondary schools. The department provides education of pedagogy and didactics of physics and takes part in teaching other subjects in education of future physics teachers at Charles University. It also provides doctoral study programme 4F12 (Physics Education and General Problems of Physics) at MFF. Members of the department (apart from other tasks) take part in: development of new teaching aids, creation of textbooks, development of school physics content and physics teaching standards and conceptions. They participate in activities and research on optimization of school leaving exams and university entrance exams in physics, concrete physics didactic issues and also general physics education problems, development of conception of university physics teacher education, use of ICT in physics education, distance education and online learning focused on physics teacher training and gifted pupils.

Where you can find us
Take a bus No. 201 from the underground station Nadrazi Holesovice to Kuchynka (first bus stop after the bridge). The Department of Physics Education is located on the 7th floor in the high-rise (so called departmental building).
